3.4.2 - The repository shall have financial practices and procedures which are transparent, compliant with relevant accounting standards and practices, and audited by third parties in accordance with territorial legal requirements.
The CLOCKSS Archive is a US 501(c)(3) organization and, as such, must file with the Internal Revenuce Service and make public annual tax returns. They are available on the Web from GuideStar. The CLOCKSS Board is considering a proposal for an external financial audit.
CLOCKSS management and CLOCKSS operations are undertaken by Stanford University staff. Their financial practices and procedures are set and overseen by Stanford University.
