5.1.1.1.4 - The repository shall have procedures, commitment and funding to replace hardware when evaluation indicates the need to do so.

The procedures for purchasing and deploying new hardware when evaluation (described in 5.1.1.1.2) determines it to be necessary are described in the Hardware Bringup section of CLOCKSS: Box Operations.

Projections from the LOCKSS Team as to future demand for additional and replacement hardware are part of the routing input to the CLOCKSS: Budget and Planning Process.
