The duties of the CLOCKSS Archive are described and related to the OAIS Mandatory Responsibilities in [[CLOCKSS: Mandatory Responsibilities]].

The organization of the CLOCKSS Archive, described in [[CLOCKSS: Governance and Organization]], is in three parts:
* The Board, whose duties and staffing are described in [[CLOCKSS: Governance and Organization#CLOCKSS Board|CLOCKSS: Governance and Organization]].
* The Management, whose duties and staffing are described in [[CLOCKSS: Governance and Organization#CLOCKSS Management|CLOCKSS: Governance and Organization]]
* The LOCKSS team, which operates the CLOCKSS Archive as described in [[CLOCKSS: Governance and Organization#CLOCKSS Operations|CLOCKSS: Governance and Organization]], in addition to developing and maintaining the LOCKSS software and supporting its use in some 13 networks around the world preserving a wide range of types of content. The LOCKSS team has been in existence for 15 years and has been economically sustainable without grant funding for more than 5 years.
