The CLOCKSS archive has a single class of AIP, called an Archival Unit (AU), documented in [[Definition of AIP]]. This document [[Definition of AIP#CLOCKSS Preservation Description Information (PDI)|defines the automatic process]] that generates the Preservation Description Information (PDI) associated with each content object within each AIP (AU) during the creation of that content object from a [[Definition of SIP|SIP]] by the only process the LOCKSS daemon implements for creating content objects within an AU.
