== 4.3.2 - The repository shall have mechanisms in place for monitoring its preservation environment. ==

Two features of the environment are of concern:
* The ability of operating system, the Java VM and the libraries to support the requirements of the LOCKSS software, and the other software components used by the CLOCKSS archive (see [[CLOCKSS: Hardware and Software Inventory#Software|CLOCKSS: Hardware and Software Inventory]]). * The set of formats supported by the Web browsers in the [[CLOCKSS: Designated Community|Knowledge Base of the Designated Community]]. Monitoring of this is described in [[LOCKSS: Software Development Process#Browser Format Support|LOCKSS: Software Development Process]].
