The CLOCKSS archive performs its Mandatory Responsibilities to its Designated Community using a range of hardware:
- The inventory of the hardware in use and how it is maintained is described in CLOCKSS: Hardware and Software Inventory.
- The process by which the production CLOCKSS boxes are upgraded to handle the necessary storage is described in the Hardware Upgrade section on CLOCKSS: Box Operations.
- The ingest process and the hardware that runs it is described in CLOCKSS: Ingest Pipeline.
- The technical risks involved in hardware provisioning are described in the Media and Hardware Obsolescence section of CLOCKSS: Threats and Mitigations.
- The economic risks involved in hardware provisioning are described in the Economic Failure section of CLOCKSS: Threats and Mitigations.
