== 4.5.3 - The repository shall create bi-directional linkages between each AIP and its descriptive information. ==

The descriptive information of interest for each AIP is:
* Bibliographic metadata, which is:
** contained in the Content Information. and thus persistently associated with it(see [[Definition of SIP]]),
** extracted as described in [[LOCKSS: Extracting Bibliographic Metadata]],
** and stored in the [[LOCKSS: Metadata Database]] on each CLOCKSS box.
: Queries to the database can return the [[Definition of AIP|AU (AIP) identifier from which the AU can be located]] on that box, and supply the bibliographic metadata for a given AU identifier.
* Preservation Description Information (PDI), which is discussed in [[Definition of AIP#CLOCKSS Preservation Description Information (PDI)|Definition of AIP]]. Given an AU identifier, the PDI can be located. The PDI includes Reference Information.
